Wedding details

Our wedding ceremony will take place at the stunning

Sanctuary of Our Lady Church in Mellieħa

on October 3rd, 2025 at 4 PM.

This beautiful baroque church, steeped in history and charm, is renowned for its breathtaking architecture and tranquil ambiance. Notably, the altar features a unique grotto, creating a serene and intimate setting for our vows. The church is home to the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Mellieha, making it a significant landmark in the region. Please note that the Parish Church, the grand church you will see upon arrival, is not the location of our ceremony. The ceremony will take place in the church located directly beneath it, nestled within a grotto setting.

Further details regarding our venue will be shared shortly.

Wish List

Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for, but should you wish to contribute, we kindly request monetary gifts in place of traditional presents.

Wedding Guidelines

Dress code

Our wedding will embody timeless elegance, with a classic and refined theme, elevated by a touch of sparkle. We ask our guests to avoid bold or neon colors as well as loud patterns, to maintain a sophisticated and harmonious atmosphere. With loved ones from diverse cultures coming together, we aim to create a harmonious sense of style.

Speeches and special moments

If you wish to give a speech or organize an activity, we kindly ask you to contact our toastmaster, Johannes, via WhatsApp at +45 22 13 44 87 before September 1st (communication is possible in both English and Danish). To ensure the celebration remains engaging and enjoyable, we ask that all speeches are kept to a maximum of 5 minutes and activities to a maximum of 20 minutes. If you plan to give your speech in Danish, we kindly ask that it also be translated into English. Should you require assistance with this, Johannes is available to help when needed.

No-phone ceremony

To keep our church ceremony intimate and meaningful, we kindly ask guests to refrain from using phones or cameras. This is very important to us, and we also kindly ask guests to help by reminding each other to honor this request during the ceremony. Afterward, feel free to take as many photos as you’d like at the reception. QR codes will be available throughout the venue for easy photo sharing in a wedding album. Please note that all photos, including the ones taken by our photographer during the ceremony, will be made available shortly after the wedding, and you are warmly invited to share these in your online posts.

Honoring church traditions

In keeping with the traditions of churches in Malta, we kindly request that all guests cover their shoulders during the ceremony. A light shawl, blazer, or similar cover-up would be perfect. While dresses and skirts that reach the knee are fine, we suggest avoiding overly short lengths. If you are uncertain, a longer jacket or cardigan will ensure an elegant and respectful appearance.

Children

We are delighted to have children join us in our celebration and look forward to seeing them enjoy the day. To ensure the smooth flow of the event and maintain the focus on the ceremony and speeches, we kindly ask parents to supervise their little ones closely. We would appreciate it if activities are kept at a quiet level so that everyone can fully appreciate the important moments of the day.

Plus ones

We are so excited to celebrate this special day with our closest loved ones! The invitations are personal, and only those named are invited. Unless we have explicitly informed you otherwise, plus ones are not automatically included. To maintain an intimate atmosphere and ensure we have a clear overview of our guests, we have chosen to keep it this way.
